Nice werk..some one correct me if im wrong I am pretty sure the only difference between that 6 volt guage and a early 12 volt guage is they added a resistor to the unit. in 6 v units this resistor dos not exist, same as deluxe clock..

Really? Im going to go research that. The gauge works perfectly fine as is but I will look into that. Thanks Ed!

Forgot to mention these resistors are not connected to the little bullet lights. I took the guts from a 6 volt clock added that resistor and changed 6 v bulb to 12 v works great now..resistor is exactly the same as the one in pic of fuel guage..not sure if a 6 v unit would burn up with 12 volts put to it or not..

It will read a little off but take years and years to fail. You can pull the voltage regulator out of a bay cluster and use it on the split fuel gauge and it will be good.

Often referred to as "vibrator" or "stabilizer" is normally located on the back side of late bug and bus speedo cluster.

Forgot to add, the tab needs to be grounded.

Well, its been a busy couple of weeks. I did alot of work but didnt document much. But today I finally hooked up the battery and started testing my rewire job... Nothing smoked or melted!! . I have turn signals, headlights, and oddly instead of 4-way hazards, I have 3-way hazards. The drivers front turn signal doesnt flash with the hazards. Idk why, will have to look at it. And no brake lights but I didn't bleed the brakes yet so hopefully that will solve that (or a new M/C switch). And the old girl is a little closer to the ground now.
Stock T2 front KYB gas-a-just in the rear, and EMPI 9650 oil filled shocks up front. I think my front tire choice will be a little to tall and rub but only a road test will tell.

First road test today and wow! Does this bus cruise! Didnt take it on the highway yet. Will do that tomorrow. Thanks to WSD for helping bleed and adjust the brakes up.
