I would also be very careful with your fuel filter. If its one of those glass ones i would ditch it for a plastic one. Ive had a glass one crack and start to slowly leak.... I also hope that little motor has the guts to push that bus on the highway with that gearing. Stop playing with those lame corvettes and get back to business :)

Good call on the filter. I have plans on doing impervious fuel hose (gates barricade or the like) and a new filter. I actually ran out of fuel on Saturday and now it won't run, I'll be checking the pump and pulling the carb checking for junk if I have to!

I also hope that it will push it! If not I guess I'll need more power, and if I do that, might as well make it able to pull my bike..;)

Good to see you found your way over here. That long rocker isn't bad at all compared to one of my buses. The front floors and doglegs seem to be pretty typical but the floor part is an easy fix with some flat steel if you want to go that way. I have patch panels for mine that are flat that Tabco made a long long time ago. Easy to hide under the floor mat ;)

It's even better to see you got the cutting of the slider track. That is going to make life a LOT easier for you or whoever welds it in. I found a very similar one on TheSamba for when I am able to drop my green 68 off for Dave to start cutting and welding on.

What the heck are those front seats out of?? Definitely get the frames from Dave to replace em!!

Thanks man, I'm trying, someone requested the bumper before I was able to register, which sucks, but the seats will help. I'm too tall for what's in there, I have to duck down to see out the side window. Whatever they are from is horrible...they are bolted to the wheel well with 3 bolts, they wobble, and suck! Lol

I'll be doing the welding, I have been welding for many many years, the biggest problem is that when I weld, it's a bead here and a bead there, so it will take me some time to get back in to some quality welds. The front floor I'm not sure if I want to patch or just replace it, but I'm pretty sure I'll patch it up for now. Throw in some new dog legs and drive the crap out of it!

The stock seats will be good for you then. I'm 6'4" and don't really have any problems. My dad is 6'7" and he also has no issues with the stock early bay lowback seats (however he has a hard time fitting in a beetle with the seat all the way back.)

That's good to hear, 5'11" but have a long torso, I hope stock seats ate better this will be an awkward ride if not!

There was a member on here cutting up some busses. He may still have them. May be some usable floor section and other bits, some metal won't work be usable because it is from a late bay, but I think the flooring sections should work if he has any.

I machined the sprocket carrier so chain lined up, modified the SV clamps to fit the honda stem, it still needs to be wired and the rearsets hung

this is mostly how it sits right now, I have not had a space to work on it, so it sits under a tarp :(

tire hunt is over.

now I need to find lifted spindles (that aren't going to cost more than the bus...) and figure out how I am lifting the back

I don't want to take it too much higher, maybe an inch, so spindles might need to be made

would I be able to just adjust the spring plates on the torsion rod in the back to get that, or is that too much?
would adjusters in the front allow that comfortably?
