Brad's Dads 1969 Camper

Post by vw7266 »

You may recognize this camper, as my dad bought it off Craig last year...Its sort of been a slow project as he has tons of other stuff hes working on..and Ive basically been doing all the work by myself...

Over all it was a nice camper to start with...Mostly og paint, and Craig had put a new motor/brakes and camper upholstery in it, and also had done alot of other work..but dad wanted it 100 percent so we tore it apart.

The body was in pretty good shape but I welded in new lower rockers and rear quarters, repaired the lower dogs legs and other misc welding.Pulled the lower nose back out as it was dented in pretty good as well as fixed some big scrapes on the pass. rear quarter. There were also about 1 million dings/dents to take care of on the sides as well...

Heres some pics...I may have some pics of it painted in the next day or so...

Looks Great :D :D :D . Judging by the round side markers, it looks like a '68?

Crazy evening...

Went and got the camper with dad...it looks great the guy did a great job.

Then went over to my g/fs to eat some dinner..during dinner we hear something in the field behind her place I dont pay much attention till im looking out the window and see some dogs run by...so I walked out into her back yard and on the other side of a 7ft fence with barbed wire on top is the 2 dogs running down a baby deer...so I sprinted back in the house and we hoped in her car and drove around to a place in the fence I could jump....ran the dogs off and deer was totally freaked out...they were chewin on its face when I got close....overall its not too messed up.

It ended up with a puncture in its back that I didnt see when I picked it up whick resulted with me covered in blood...whats on my shirt in the pics is just what bleed through the other shit I had on...but she'll make it, we doctored her up ..and she's hanging out in mom and dads yard till we can figure something out for her.
