Thanks toolbox , your alright . I don't care what they said about ya ;) The diagrams look overwhelming but I'll take it on like you have explained one little part at a time . Going to Put in Bay this weekend so it will have to wait a couple more days till I get to it . Peace

All the wiring is pulled apart . No turning back now . The vehical had a Cobra alarm system rigged to protect this prescious jewel . That was a good part of the mess.

But the snake powered alarm systems are the best! They strike when nobody is paying attention

My truck has some sort of python alarm and arms itself after 60 seconds, it's a dream to work on, let me tell ya. you guys are lucky that it was somewhat disconnected. best of luck

Thank's Sean for letting me borrow your Mig welder . I started cutting the rust holes out yesterday . Man thats a job in it's self . Is a angle grinder your basic way to do this ? Started to take the front fenders off and hit a wall yesterday . The front bumper has to come off to do that , and the bolts holding it on are being a bitch . I took the headlight out and the headlight socket is wasted . All the other rust repair seams do - able except this . Maybe there is a repair metal peace availabe ? I'm going to end up taking this project down to the chasis . Which I didnt really want to do . But one thing always leads to another and I don't want to do a half ass job . Hopfully I have all the holes cut out and ready to weld by this weekend . I need to get ahold of one of those plasma cuters  Taking the gas tank out today , there is dirt in the filter . So might as well clean the tank while I'm at it .

If you need my "industrial" grinder, and it sounds like you do, come and get it on Thursday.

I'll try to swing down next Saturday to see this, and pick up my coffee mug. I'm good at taking things apart. It's the Putting It Back Together that's harder for me.

Thats a good question Arron . And nope . Got the floors fixed and that about it . I do manage to stair at it once in a while . I've been reading the manuel and took the fenders loose . I've changed my thinking a bit to getting the wiring back together and rocking it just the way it is . Everyone loves a ratty ass VW . Maybe lower it and put some rims on it that are worth more than the car :D . Anyways work has been better this winter than the last two years so not as much time . Soon as I get it running I'll cruz on over . Might be next year at this rate .

Glad to hear that work is picking up for ya! If you need any help sweeping up rust or emptying your beer cooler, let me know. I can't wait to see this squareback on the road and get a ride in it!
