Since were talking engines, did that bus come with a 40 horse originally? Was it fresh air heat by then or still stale air? I'm sure Ken or Ted will know the answer. You've got to love the way you can bolt up an improved motor like the 1500 to one of these early buses. Great stuff!
Yes, a '62 bus would have been a 40 horse, stale air motor only. December 1,1962, which would be the '63 model year, they changed from stale air to fresh air, The 1500 motor was introduced in January/February 1963 and was always fresh air.

Looks to be a transition 62. Very cool!! Randy, if this is an original paint bus, I wouldn't repaint it!!!!! Just my opinion though.. Looks nice and if you've been looking for this one for someteen yrs it looks like it was worth the wait!! Congrats.

Thanks. Will probably be repainted by fall or during the winter.

It's been painted from the b pillars forward. I want to get it painted before next winter. It has some weak spots under the cargo doors and left side short rocker. Don't want the thing to fall apart in the middle of next winter.

Hey Howie, believe it or not, this one is a keeper. You'll probably see it this year.
