Re: FramingSilly "There's a first time for everyone"
Little update on my project,I finally got the exhaust bolted up and electrical connections done(hope there right.)I'll keep on going over them till the moment of truth.Pretty much ready to go , but dist. drive and I think decent weather to break the rings in. Does anyone now if I can run the engine at idle to seat the rings?Maybe hold the RPM's high for a while?I've read a couple different ways to break in the engine.Any input would be much appreciated.Peace.

Re: FramingSilly "There's a first time for everyone"
Thinking of taking all the aftermarket paint of and getting down to the original paint.I'm sure its going to be a real chore.Anyone ever take on this task? There is some bubbling at the bottom of my doors .I don't know what to expect there?I think I will try on the inside of a door or something.

Here's a good link on the paint issue: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=76072
Keep in mind if they completely sanded the original before applying the aftermarket, the original is forever lost.
