It looked like this.. the picture makes it look better than it was...the rockere were a mixture of galvanized, angle iron, rivits, caulking and bondo and the front and rear fenders arent supposed to all be one piece :P

I basically stripped it apart, threw away the junk front fenders, rebuilt the bottoms of the rears, fixed a bunch of other rust, and just painted it this past week. Type 3's are loads more work than any other VW that Im convinced of.

Not much to report on the westy other than I drove the heck out of it this summer and it did great....but today I finally almost got my 64 square finished...still tons of little stuff but I was happy I got to cruise it up and down the street

Nice! How did you paint it? In the garage/makeshift booth, single stage/ or bc/cc? It came out nice and smooth!
