Upright Bays used the same muffler and damper as Splits.
I know the stock muffler is the same between the 2, that is why I specified collector pipe/muffler pipe.

for the price I paid for this, I'll probably just cut the flange off and re-index.

different manufactures,Tri Mill,Empi,Thunderbird, etc. have their mufflers exit on different sides. Yours actually looks correct. Also, many times different manufactures mufflers do not interchange due to the orientation of the flange. I'm with toolbox as to waiting until you get your apron and bumper before any cutting or welding, which may cause some other issues. I have an old friend that a number of years ago, installed an extractor/muffler on his beautiful 71 Westy and the exhaust
exited into the bottom of the overider and blew back out of the top of the overider and blistered his paint and melted the tail lite.
Also,I noticed that your extractor doesn't look like it has a provision for the heat riser for the intake manifold. this may or MAY NOT be a small problem.

No heat boxes, but it hooks up to the tubes going to the intake. Apron is on already. No bumpers yet. Exhaust is way too low it will be fixed

" but it hooks up to the tubes going to the intake." I couldn't see that well in the pic, guess I did not look close enough
Does look like a nice exhaust though. Is it stainless or coated?

Ceramic coated, seems to be pretty decent, but I don't expect this to be a lifetime exhaust.

You definitely need those heat risers hooked up on the manifold. And make sure nothing is clogged up with carbon. Other wise you will have a icing problem. I like the exhaust!

Yesterday I went to pick up a bumper and door from Craig, thanks again!

Spent some time replacing the door today, after fixing the wife's beetle. Had to pound out the hinge pins, and switch the latch, as it's a later door and things are a little different.

Old door on left, New right

Installed, I need a new mirror!

Also test fit the bumper

Oh, I'm working overtime on this thing. The plan is to actually drive it some day before the snow flies.

Installed the new drive shafts, I hope that fixes some of the clunks on acceleration.

I finally got some bumpers and cleaned up and straightened the mounts. I also had to make a new mount for the front bumper. I got most of the bends and dents out of them, but left the finish as is for now.

I'm headed back tomorrow, I have much more to do!

I've been working all day again, more welding, grinding, cleaning and attempting to make this thing road worthy!

Making the patch piece

Put the old carpet back in, just to cover up the steel until I can finish it

My son helped get the wheels back on, and helped me get the back end cleaned out so we could maybe drive it soon
