WTB Swing Axle '61-'67 bug transmission

Post by Six Volt »

Looking at a long range plan to upgrade my oval to a later tunnel trans with a more powerful motor. If I can source a replacement trans and related parts, I'll keep the current split-case trans and 36HP motor mothballed for the next owner to achieve stock nirvana. I want to upgrade in my lifetime, so I can drive this on the freeway and get killed by a semi tractor truck in the middle lane.

And yes, at age 67, I'm aware that "long range plans" have a limited shelf life.

So, if anyone is sitting on some mid '60's beetle stuff that they want to unload (a tranny, axles, tubes, backing plates or drums) let me know.

Call Bill Hickmont at B&D Custom Performance. He is strictly a VW trans shop in Owosso Mi. Super reasonable and he can set you up with a drum to drum rearend.

Then head a few blocks to see this pile sitting on jack stands...
