Post by vw7266 »

Randy and I picked this up today, traded my 72 camper for it...I dont have a real plan...but the motor was rebuilt and it has fresh brakes...body needs some love but its not too bad. Worst part is the rear pass corner/roof need some attention so Im looking for that section if anyone is parting a bay

Nice score. Very rare. Gotta love those early Bay Panels.

I got some work done on the drivers rocker/quarter panel

I really need a section of roof is anyone parting out a bay?

see my wanted ad

I need this section of a bay window roof. Not the whole roof just the rain gutter up to the ridge in the roof from about 5 inches in front of the cargo door to around the corner. I need it to include the rain gutter in the corner over to around where the hatch is. Any help is greatly appreciated!

It's a little cold to go out there and cut out the roof section you need right now, maybe spring.
Can you travel here:
Tom Hoovler VW Repair
(724) 588-4022
795 Mercer Rd
Greenville, PA 16125
Tom repairs, sells, scraps. He has a couple bays in his 'yard' and would probably let you cut out the section. He may cut it for you, but I would go prepared. Tom is a nice guy.
Otherwise, contact me when the weather changes (for the better) or when things get bleak and desperate. I will be parting and scrapping a '72 transporter in the spring. There isn't much left and the wife says it's got to go.

hey thanks...I actually found the roof section I need.

Maybe it will warm up here a bit and I'll get motivated to get some work done on it!
